Camille currently works for California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones and brings a diverse background to the California Department of Insurance. Camille represents the Insurance Commissioner on cannabis-insurance related matters. She also represents the Commissioner on the State Treasurer’s Cannabis Banking Working Group and sits on other insurance-related committees for the Insurance Commissioner. In addition to her cannabis-insurance role, Ms. Dixon represents the Insurance Commissioner on the California Automobile Assigned Risk Plan Board and runs a statewide program that helps income-eligible consumers obtain affordable auto insurance through a state-sponsored program. She also served as Interim Director of the Insurance Commissioner’s Insurance Diversity Initiative.
Camille previously worked for the California State Board of Equalization where she advised the Chairman on tax appeals, legislative matters, and implemented the Chairman’s cannabis and affordable housing taxation initiatives. Camille also worked for one of the largest commercial real estate firms in the world managing client assets and over one million square feet of commercial property.
Prior to her commercial real estate career, Ms. Dixon worked in the court system managing caseloads and assisting criminal law judges. She also worked for the City of Vallejo Public Works department and helped the local residents and became Chairwoman of the City of Vallejo Youth Activities Commission. Ms. Dixon graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law with a Doctorate in Jurisprudence and a Master of Laws in Taxation. She also has degrees in political science and paralegal studies.
