As Director of the Surplus Line Association of California (SLA), I function as the association’s chief operating officer. In this position, I utilize my skills in management and organizational leadership to create strategic goals and oversee all departments pertaining to the management and administration of the association. SLA serves as the statutory surplus line advisory organization to the California Department of Insurance (CDI) and facilitates the state’s capacity to monitor and direct surplus line brokers’ placements of insurance with eligible nonadmitted insurers.
I earned both a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s College of California.
I am involved with the American Association of Managing General Agents (AAMGA), National Association of Surplus Lines Offices (NAPSLO), California Insurers Wholesalers Association (CIWA) and the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF).
My hobbies and interests include cooking, hiking and traveling. I am drawn to, and passionate about, charitable associations such as A Leg Up Rescue (board member), Saranap Community Garden (board member) National Council for Adoption, and Muttville Senior Dog Rescue
